Database Services

The following feature changes for Database Services are included in AOLserver Version 3.0:

Database services forms interface no longer supported: The database services forms interface at /NS/Db is no longer supported. Use the DB mode of the control port interface to execute DDL and DML commands.

Automatic forms generation no longer supported: AOLserver no longer supports automatic database search, entry, and update forms.

Illustra and full text module (nstext) no longer supported: AOLserver no longer provides a database driver for Illustra or the nstext module, which was used to provide full text capabilities with the Illustra database.

Extended table features no longer supported: AOLserver no longer supports the extended table features, such as customization of automatically-generated forms, table and column customizations, automatic mail, and downloading table schema.

Table permissions no longer supported: AOLserver no longer supports setting table permissions.

Get table schema no longer supported: AOLserver no longer supports downloading the DDL for a table from the database services interface.

Upload/download from CSV no longer supported: AOLserver no longer supports importing and exporting CSV data from the database services interface. The Tcl function ns_getcsv, which allows you to read data from a CSV file, is still supported.
