Using an SSL-Secured Server

The URLs and the default port are different. Instead of beginning with "http:" they begin with "https:" and instead of listening on port 80 the server listens on port 443 by default. For example, you would access a secured server with a URL like:

    https://your-server-name:443/

or equivalently:

    https://your-server-name/

Note that on a Netscape browser, the /NS/About page lists the SSL protocol in use, which is useful for determining the encryption method in use.
