Configuration and Setup

The following new features and functionality changes in configuration and the Setup Server are included in AOLserver Version 2.3

New [ns/mimetypes] and [ns/mimeicons] configuration file sections: These new configuration file sections allow you to have global settings for MIME types and MIME icons that can then be overridden by individual virtual servers in the previously-existing [ns/server/server-name/mimetypes] and [ns/server/server-name/mimeicons] sections.

New IgnoreErrors parameter: This parameter determines whether an ADP should continue processing if an error occurs or an error page should be returned.

New LogQueryOnTclError configuration parameter: This parameter allows you to turn on or off the reporting of form data to the server log when there is an error.

New MaxCallDepth configuration parameter: This parameter limits the number of nested ADP evaluations, which can lead to crashes.

New QuotaSize configuration parameter: This parameter allows you to set a quota for the maximum size to which pageroot and its descendents may grow.

New default for RollFmt configuration parameter: The default for the RollFmt parameter has been changed to specify a 4-digit year rather than a 2-digit year.

New SkipLocks configuration parameter: This parameter allows you to turn off mutex locking in Tcl interpreters, which increases performance but also introduces some restrictions.

New SmtpPort configuration parameter: This parameter allows you to specify an SMTP smarterhost. This can be used, for instance, to send mail through a firewall or a private/secured copy of sendmail running as a daemon on your local machine.
