ns_shutdown

Overview

Shut down the server and optionally restart it

Syntax

ns_shutdown -restart ?nseconds?

Description

ns_shutdown shuts down the server. The nseconds argument specifies a time limit in which the server is to shut down. If the server hasn't stopped within the time limit, it is immediately stopped, aborting any active connections. The default value of nseconds is 0.

If -restart is specified, the server is restarted after it is shut down. The -restart option will not work if the server was not started as root and the server configuration has changed to require root startup, e.g., a port was changed to a privileged port number.
